L’autore-personaggio. Modi di autorappresentazione nei saggi personali di Trevi, Pascale, Moresco

L’articolo indaga i modi e le forme dell’autorappresentazione autoriale nei saggi personali di Emanuele Trevi, Antonio Pascale e Antonio Moresco. Attraverso l’analisi di testi dalla discorsività stratificata, a metà tra argomentazione e racconto, il contributo studia gli effetti della coincidenza tra autore, locutore e personaggio sulla focalizzazione e sul patto di credibilità instaurato con il lettore. In Trevi l’Altro diventa condizione di possibilità della presenza del sé, in un egotismo diminuito e ironico; Pascale, agronomo con una formazione tecnica, decostruisce costantemente l’opinione comune; Moresco si presenta come uno scrittore di visione e un profeta sommerso. Particolare attenzione è riservata alle strategie con le quali questi autori costruiscono il proprio e l’altrui sé, alla posizione che assumono nei confronti della materia trattata e ai soggetti con cui di volta in volta entrano in relazione.

The article investigates the forms of authorial self-representation in the personal essays of Emanuele Trevi, Antonio Pascale, and Antonio Moresco. Through an analysis of texts marked by a stratified discursivity, poised between essay and narration, this article examines the effects of the overlap between author, speaker, and character on focalization and on the credibility pact established with the reader. In Trevi, the Other becomes the condition of possibility for the presence of the self, yielding a diminished and ironic egotism; Pascale, an agronomist with a technical background, continually deconstructs common opinion; Moresco presents himself as a writer of vision and a submerged prophet. Particular attention is devoted to the strategies through which these authors construct both their own and others’ selves, to the positions they assume with respect to the subject matter, and to the figures with whom they enter into relation from time to time.
