Il breve saggio prende in esame il libro di Alessandro Zaccuri, Milano, città di nessuno. Reportage visionario (2003), che utilizza il fantasma di Luciano Bianciardi per un giro per la città che l’autore grossetano conosceva bene, anche profeticamente per come sarebbe diventata in conseguenza della sua critica feroce del consumismo iniziato con il “boom economico”. Il libro ha il merito di aver contribuito agli inizi del nuovo secolo al recupero dell’opera di Bianciardi dalla damnatio memoriae, a cui era stata condannata nei trent’anni successivi a La vita agra (1962). Milano viene riconosciuta con “un nessun luogo”, una città “immateriale” senza corpo, neppure quello dei propri morti, una scia interminabile dal 1898 (quelli della strage degli operai perpetrata da Bava Beccaris) fino al 2002 (anno dell’incidente aereo contro il Pirellone). Il reportage più che “visionario”, come vorrebbe il titolo, non prende partito sui morti rievocati, senza utilizzare la carica critica a cui il personaggio Bianciardi per sua natura e storia si sarebbe prestato benissimo.

The short essay examines the book by Alessandro Zaccuri, Milan, no-one’s city. Visionary Reportage (2003), which uses the ghost of Luciano Bianciardi for a tour of the city that the author from Grosseto knew well, even prophetically as it would become as a result of his fierce criticism of consumerism started with the “economic boom”.
