ha studiato letteratura italiana alla Scuola Normale Superiore e all’Università di Pisa, dove si è laureata con una tesi sull’opera di Primo Levi. È stata assegnista di ricerca presso l’Università degli Studi di Siena, dove nel 2005 ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca, e presso l’Università per Stranieri di Siena, dove insegna Tecniche del Lavoro editoriale, Storia dell’editoria e Storia della critica letteraria. Nel 2009-10 è stata British Academy Visiting Fellow all’università di Leeds. Nel 2008 ha pubblicato Il comunista. Una storia letteraria dalla Resistenza agli anni Settanta, grazie al quale ha ricevuto nel 2010 una Special Mention come Best Early Career Scholar alla prima edizione dell’Edinburgh Gadda Prize-sezione Novecento in saggio. È co-autrice di un manuale di letteratura per le scuole secondarie superiori, La letteratura e noi (2013-14) e di La letteratura tedesca in Italia. Un’introduzione (1900-1920) (2018). È co-direttrice della rivista «allegoria» e dirige con Irene Fantappiè e Michele Sisto la collana Quodlibet «Letteratura tradotta in Italia».

graduated from the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa (2001) and got a PhD in Italian Literature at the University of Siena (2005). In 2008 she published the book Il comunista. Una storia letteraria dalla Resistenza agli anni Settanta, in which she reconstructs the history of Italian literature between the Second World War and the Seventies through an analysis of the literary treatment of Communist characters. While working at this research she developed a specific interest in the narratives concerning the Italian Resistance. She pursues a long-term interest in Jewish Studies and in the work of Primo Levi. About this author she has published numerous essays. During her stay as a British Academy Visiting Fellow at the Italian Department of the University of Leeds she investigated the relationship of Luigi Meneghello’s academic career in the UK with the author’s creative work. Her research interests are Contemporary Italian Literature, Sociology of Literature (with a particular regard to Pierre Bourdieu’s theories), Holocaust Studies (with a particular regard to Primo Levi’s work) and Translation Studies (she co-authored La letteratura tedesca in Italia. Un’introduzione (1900-1920), published in 2018).  She is currently Associate Professor at the Università per Stranieri di Siena.
